Seyi Olofinjana Named Technical Director at Swiss Club

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Seyi Olofinjana has been named the Technical Director at Grasshoppers Zurich of Switzerland.

Olofinjana, capped 58 times by the Nigerian senior national team previously worked as the loans and player pathway manager at Wolves.

He holds a PFA Coaching Certification and works as a player representative on some occasions.

The well-read Olofinjana is a Chemical Engineering graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State, South West Nigeria.

Olofinjana’s rise is yet another progress for former African internationals as Yaya Toure also got a coaching job at Ukrainian club, Olimpik Donetsk.

There had been previous calls on European clubs to encourage having more African professionals and people of colour in their boardroom.

Olofinjana is expected to be in charge of players’ transfer, loan movements and the overall performance grading of the team. He’s also expected to work closely with the coaching crew over team development strategies.
