A senior member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Olusola Oke, has expressed confidence that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will secure a clear win in the ongoing governorship election.
Speaking with journalists on Saturday after casting his vote in Ilowo, Ugbo Ward 003, Ilaje Local Government Area, Oke, a former governorship aspirant, described the electoral process as peaceful. He praised voters for coming out to exercise their rights without fear or harassment.
“Election is peaceful everywhere. You can understand the joy of the people to come over and cast their votes despite the difficult terrain as a result of the water side area,” Oke said.
He expressed optimism about the APC’s victory, stating that the opposition lacks the strength to defeat the ruling party.
“This time has been long waited for. The governorship candidate of the APC will win the election because it is very visible. Because the broom has swung very clean in our direction for victory,” he said.
“There is no credible opposition in the state, and the governor came from an environment where the people have long been yearning for good leadership. We will deliver the votes for him. I can assure you that the governor will win clean,” he added.
Oke urged voters to maintain the peace that has marked the election so far, commending the smooth conduct of the process.
The governorship election in Ondo State continues, with stakeholders closely monitoring the outcome as voting progresses across various local government areas.
