At least three separate road accidents were reported on Christmas morning in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, keeping emergency services busy as they attended to the scenes.
The incidents involved single vehicles in each case, with drivers sustaining serious injuries and requiring urgent medical attention.
In the first incident, paramedics were called just after 5am to a crash on the N2 southbound near Spaghetti Junction. On arrival, they found the driver critically injured. Emergency responders stabilised him at the scene before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further care.
Later, at approximately 8.30am, another vehicle overturned on the M19 near Otto Volek Road. The driver, who was the only occupant, sustained serious injuries. ALS paramedics worked quickly to stabilise the individual before rushing him to hospital.
The third incident occurred shortly after 11am on the N2 northbound, close to Umgeni Road. Once again, a single vehicle had rolled over, leaving its driver in a serious condition. Emergency personnel stabilised the injured driver before transferring him to a local hospital.
Police officers were present at all three crash scenes and have launched investigations to determine the causes of these accidents.
