Court filings reveal that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have struck a settlement agreement in their divorce, around four months after Lopez filed to dissolve their two-year union.
According to the settlement agreement, neither side has asked for spousal support.
After they originally eloped in Las Vegas a month earlier, Lopez filed for divorce in August, the same month that their 2022 wedding ceremony took place in Riceboro, Georgia.
They placed their Beverly Hills house up for sale, Lopez cancelled her summer tour to spend more time with her family, and there were rumours that the two had been living apart before they broke up.
The marriage of Lopez and Affleck took place almost two decades after they first connected on the set of the comedy “Gigli,” where they played co-workers who were stuck on the same job and developed a friendship that later blossomed into a romantic one.
Both of them got married and had families over the years.
When Team “Bennifer” got back together in 2021, however, they celebrated Bennifer 2.0.
They appeared elated as well.
As Affleck stated to The Wall Street Journal in December 2021, “One thing I value across all facets of my life now is that it was handled in a way that reflected that. Even though I’m not perfect, my life today reflects the person I want to be and the person I truly feel like I am—someone who works extremely hard and values honesty, authenticity, and accountability. It’s difficult to determine who gains more without getting into specifics.”
Affleck used Harry Winston’s handmade 6.1-carat pink diamond ring to pop the question, and the couple became engaged in November 2002. The storyline of the music video for Lopez’s 2002 hit “Jenny from the Block,” which features the paparazzi’s portrayal of their relationship, also featured him as Lopez’s love interest.
Citing “excessive media attention” surrounding their wedding, the couple postponed their September 2003 wedding plan just days before it was scheduled to take place.
At the time, CNN was informed by sources that the pair was “taking a break.”
The first time they split up was in January 2004.
