The Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), led by President Ambassador EO Okafor, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the Acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

In a statement on behalf of AANI’s Executive Committee and National Executive Council, Okafor highlighted Oluyede’s exceptional service record, commitment, and extensive experience within the Nigerian Army. He remarked that Major General Oluyede’s appointment reflects his professionalism and President Tinubu’s confidence in AANI members’ capabilities in national security roles.

Major General Oluyede, previously Commander of the Infantry Corps, brings a wealth of experience from numerous command, staff, and instructional roles in Nigeria and abroad. Okafor expressed confidence that his unique insights and extensive military background will enhance his leadership of the Army, especially in confronting security challenges across the country.

AANI urged officers and soldiers to unite under Major General Oluyede’s leadership, trusting his knowledge and dedication to drive positive outcomes.

The association also sent heartfelt wishes for a quick recovery to Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the substantive Chief of Army Staff, while pledging its full support for Major General Oluyede’s tenure.
