The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has been told to end the strike right now by an Abuja-based Court of Appeal.

The appellate court ruled that the union’s request to appeal the National Industrial Court‘s decision ordering it to call off its strike would only be granted if the union agrees to end its strike.

    ASUU President Emmanuel Osodeke

However, the court allowed the application with the condition that the union abide by the lower court’s decision and cease the strike right away while the substantive lawsuit is being decided.

Following ASUU’s compliance with the lower court’s decision, the court gave them seven days to file their appeal.
