Turkish football club Besiktas confirmed on Tuesday that they have opened formal negotiations to sign English striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently contracted to Serie A side AS Roma.
In an official statement, the Istanbul club said it had begun discussions with both the player and Roma regarding the potential transfer of the forward, referring to him by his full name, Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham.
The 27-year-old has one year remaining on his current deal with the Italian club. Reports in the Italian media suggest the proposed move could be a loan agreement rather than a permanent transfer.

Abraham, speaking from the club’s private jet in a video posted to Besiktas’ official Instagram page, said: “Hello Black Eagles, I’m coming for you, see you at the airport.” He is expected to touch down in Istanbul later on Tuesday.
The striker joined AS Roma from Chelsea in August 2021 for €41 million (£35 million), signing a five-year contract. He was a key part of the Roma side that secured the Europa Conference League title in 2022.
Most recently, Abraham spent the 2024–25 season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored 10 goals across all competitions.
