    Borno Police Commissioner Assures Safety Ahead of Town Hall Meeting

    News Central’s Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, Kayode Akintemi, led a delegation of senior professionals from the organisation on a courtesy visit to the Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Nasiru Abdulmajid, at the Police Headquarters in Maiduguri. The high-level meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the media and law enforcement to promote peace and public safety in Borno State and beyond.

    During the visit, Akintemi and his team engaged in constructive discussions with CP Nasiru Abdulmajid and his senior officers, focusing on the shared responsibility of the media and police in fostering a secure and informed society. Both parties explored avenues for collaboration, particularly in public awareness, crisis communication, and community engagement.

    The visit comes ahead of the highly anticipated News Central TV Town Hall Meeting, scheduled to take place in Maiduguri on Thursday, June 19, 2025. The Town Hall will bring together key stakeholders, including government officials, security agencies, civil society, and the public, to deliberate on pressing issues of peace, security, and development in the region.

    CP Nasiru Abdulmajid expressed the unwavering commitment of the Borno State Police Command to supporting News Central’s initiatives, especially the upcoming Town Hall. He emphasised the importance of a strong partnership between the police and the media in building trust, promoting transparency, and ensuring the safety of all citizens.

    Akintemi thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception and pledged News Central’s continued dedication to responsible journalism and community development. He noted that the collaboration with law enforcement is vital to achieving lasting peace and sustainable progress in Borno State.
