The Court of Appeal has dismissed the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, challenging the electoral victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Edo Sate Gubernatorial Election.

Delivering judgment, the court ruled that the petition was without merit, stating that Ighodalo failed to substantiate his claims of electoral irregularities and alleged non-compliance with the Electoral Act.

The panel further noted that the petitioner neither presented credible witnesses nor tendered essential electoral documents to back up his assertions. As a result, the court concluded that the case was purely speculative and lacked evidentiary value.

With this ruling, Senator Okpebholo’s election remains valid and legally binding.
