BREAKING: President Tebboune Secures Second Term with Near 95% Victory in Algeria

President Tebboune Secures Second Term with Near 95% Victory in Algeria

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been re-elected with an overwhelming 94.65% of votes, according to the country’s electoral authority, ANIE. The announcement was made on Sunday following Saturday’s election.

ANIE head Mohamed Charfi reported that of the 5,630,000 voters recorded, 5,320,000 cast their ballots for the incumbent president, securing his victory with nearly 95% of the vote. The results reinforce Tebboune’s dominant position in Algerian politics as he embarks on his second term as president.

“Of 5,630,000 voters recorded, 5,320,000 voted for the independent candidate Abdelmadjid Tebboune, accounting for 94.65 percent” Charfi told reporters in the capital Algiers.

This landslide win solidifies the president’s leadership, although the election was marked by controversy, with opposition candidate Abdelaali Hassani raising concerns about potential vote-rigging and manipulation of the results.
