British former footballer Fran Hurndall has completed a remarkable 3,800-kilometre (2,360-mile) charity run across Australia, claiming the fastest time on record for a woman.
Her team announced on Sunday that the 33-year-old completed the journey from Perth to Sydney in just 60 days, despite battling an Achilles tendon injury and infected blisters throughout the gruelling endeavour.
Hurndall undertook the monumental run to raise money for victims of domestic violence. In a statement, she reflected on the immense challenge: “The run has been a wild ride, and the physical and mental struggle has been unbelievable.”

She emphasised the motivation behind her effort, stating, “What I have had to go through is absolutely nothing compared to the struggle of those women who live with the threat of domestic violence every single day.”
A team spokeswoman confirmed that Hurndall finished 17 days faster than the previous claimed women’s record, set in 2023. Hurndall now plans to officially lodge her accomplishment with Guinness World Records.
