    The 2024 Edo Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is poised to hold its inaugural and pre-hearing session to address petitions challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) declaration of Monday Okpebholo, the APC Governorship Candidate, as the winner of the September 21 governorship election.

    Edo Poll Petition: Tribunal Holds Inaugural Sitting, Pre-Hearing Session Today

    This morning, the tribunal received seven petitions, including one filed by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate, Asue Ighodalo.

    According to the results announced by INEC on September 22, 2024, the PDP candidate, Ighodalo, secured second place, while the Labour Party candidate, Olumide Akpata, came in third.
