    Five Killed in Ghastly Motor Accident in Osun State

    A tragic motor accident on the Ife-Ilesa Road in Osun State resulted in the deaths of five individuals, including an infant girl.

    Mrs. Agnes Ogungbemi, the Public Enlightenment Officer for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Osun Command, confirmed on Saturday.

    The FRSC detailed that an unregistered trailer collided with a private Toyota Hilux vehicle bearing registration number: FKJ691HZ, leading to the fatalities of five out of the nine people travelling in the car. The trailer driver was apprehended and subsequently transferred to the Police at Edun Abun division in Osun.

    Five Killed in Ghastly Motor Accident in Osun State

    The State FRSC Commander, Taofeeq Sokunbi, said that the injured passengers were promptly transported to a hospital in Ipetumodu, while the deceased were taken to the mortuary at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

    The State Sector Commander indicated that the accident was caused by excessive speeding and a violation of one-way traffic rules, while also advising road users to refrain from route violations and other infractions.

    “The road accident happened at about 10:15am today, Saturday, April 10, the affected drivers and passengers included six male adults, two female adults, and one female child”. Sokunbi said.
