At least four Somalian civilians were killed while others were injured when mortar shells hit houses near an airport in the capital, Mogadishu.
According to locals at the site of the incident, the mortar shells which appeared to be targeted at the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) hit civilians and missed target.
No individual or groups have taken responsibility for the incident yet with terrorist organisation, Al Shabaab known to inflict such damage in the past.
The Somali government has been on a battle against terrorism faced from Al-Qaeda-backed Al Shabaab as they aim to topple the government to establish their laws.
The terrorist organisation was driven out of Kenya after many years of wreaking havoc in the country. Now ridden to ruins in the East African giant nation, Somalia has had to battle its remains.
There have been at least three public explosions in Mogadishu this year with critical government structures and open places being targeted by the terrorists.
