The Federal Foundation Supervisory Authority has mandated the dissolution of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), headquartered in Geneva.
The decision, published on July 2 in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce, allows a 30-day period for creditors to come forward before the foundation is formally wound up.
The Authority cited GHF’s failure to meet several legal requirements, including the absence of board members, a valid postal address, and a Swiss bank account.

On May 30, the International Jurists Union (IJU) issued a warning of impending legal action against GHF.
Anouar Gharbi, the IJU’s Geneva director, stressed that by August 3, the foundation must be removed entirely from the Geneva commercial register.
He added that the foundation cannot continue operating without a Geneva address or a Swiss representative.
Legal proceedings against GHF members will persist, with the IJU representing seven families who lost relatives to violence near GHF distribution points, allegedly inflicted by GHF guards.
GHF’s Geneva branch was established in February 2025 and reportedly supported by the United States and Israel for financial purposes.
The UN and numerous humanitarian organisations have sharply criticised the GHF, refusing cooperation due to concerns over its neutrality and conduct.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health reports that since late May, nearly 550 people have died near food distribution sites linked to the foundation.
