    The Nigerian Government has officially designated Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as a national holiday in honour of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebration.

    This announcement was made by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, who represented the government in extending warm congratulations to Nigerians residing both within the country and across the globe as they prepare to mark this important milestone.

    During his address, Dr. Tunji-Ojo expressed profound admiration for the resilience, perseverance, and unfaltering dedication of Nigerian citizens. He assured that the relentless efforts and sacrifices of men and women across the nation would never be overlooked or diminished.

    Tunji-Ojo further called upon the people to reflect deeply on the legacies left behind by Nigeria’s past heroes. He urged citizens to draw strength and inspiration from these contributions, recognising that only through sustained unity could the collective vision of a prosperous Nigeria be achieved.

    The Minister appealed to all Nigerians to actively participate in the ongoing process of nation-building, and expressed his hopes for a joyous and impactful Independence Day celebration for the country.
