The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the revised voter register for Rivers State, along with a list of political parties registered in Nigeria, in preparation for the upcoming Local Government Council elections.
A letter dated March 13, 2025, signed by the Administrative Secretary, Odor Napoleon Emezuiruke, officially informed the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) about this update.
The communication, addressed to the Chairman of RSIEC, confirmed that a digital copy of the voters’ register had been sent in response to the commission’s request.
In light of this update, RSIEC released a statement announcing the receipt of the new register from the INEC Headquarters.

The statement, signed by the Commissioner responsible for Media & Civic Education, Tamunotonye Tobins, assured stakeholders and the public of RSIEC’s dedication to conducting elections that are free, fair, and credible. The polls are slated for Saturday, August 9, 2025.
The list of registered political parties shared by INEC includes options such as the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Action Peoples Party (APP), and the Labour Party (LP), along with 15 additional parties.
With the updated voters’ register established, RSIEC reaffirms its commitment to facilitating a seamless electoral process in Rivers State as they ramp up their preparations for the August elections.
