Iranian authorities have arrested two individuals suspected of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, according to local media reports on Sunday.
State news agency IRNA, citing police sources, stated that the pair were apprehended at a residence in Savojbolagh County, located in the northern province of Alborz.
Reports indicate the suspects were using the property as a base for manufacturing bombs, booby traps, explosive devices, and various forms of electronic equipment.

The arrests follow a sharp escalation in hostilities between the two regional rivals. On Friday, Israel launched a series of coordinated unprovoked airstrikes targeting Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Tehran responded swiftly with missile strikes aimed at Israeli territory.
Israeli authorities have confirmed that at least 13 people have died and over 370 have been wounded as a result of Iran’s retaliatory attacks since Friday.
Iran, meanwhile, reported that 78 people were killed on the first day of Israel’s bombardment, with additional casualties—including children—reported on the second day.
