Israel has released 14 Palestinian detainees from the Gaza Strip after several months in detention, according to a medical source.
The detainees were freed at the Kissufim crossing in central Gaza, from where the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) transported them to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for medical care.
Former detainees released by Israel have frequently exhibited signs of torture and inadequate medical treatment following their release, and the newly released detainees were no different.
The ICRC usually assists in transferring released detainees to hospitals, providing them with basic hygiene supplies, clothing, and medical attention.

Thousands of Palestinians from Gaza are believed to be held by the Israeli military during its ongoing brutal campaign against the enclave.
Despite international appeals for a ceasefire, Israeli forces have continued their deadly assault on Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 56,600 Palestinians—predominantly women and children—since October 2023.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its conduct in the Gaza invasion.
