The Israeli military has set more homes and buildings ablaze in southern Lebanon, further violating the ceasefire agreed upon on November 27, according to Lebanon’s state media.
The National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli forces deliberately ignited structures in the Marjayoun district, specifically in the towns of Rab El Thalathine and Odaisseh. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the affected areas.
Israeli drones also reportedly dropped bombs on vehicles clearing rubble in the town of Taybeh. These incidents add to the growing number of ceasefire violations, which have now reached 830 breaches, based on NNA data.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese army has entered the town of Aitaroun, in the Bint Jbeil district, to clear explosives and war remnants left behind by Israel, according to a statement from the town’s municipality.
Under the ceasefire deal, Israel was expected to complete its military withdrawal from Lebanon by January 26, but it has refused to do so. The deadline was extended to February 18, as confirmed by the White House.
Since January 26, at least 26 civilians have been killed and 221 injured by Israeli gunfire while attempting to return to their villages in southern Lebanon, according to local health officials.
The ceasefire agreement was intended to halt hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, which escalated following Israel’s onslaught on Gaza in October 2023. The border clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah intensified in September 2024, leading to a prolonged conflict that has killed over 4,000 people and injured thousands more.
As Israeli attacks continue despite the truce, tensions remain high in the region, raising concerns about further escalation.
