Israeli airstrikes injured seven Palestinians, including a critically wounded child, in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, despite an ongoing ceasefire agreement, according to medical sources.
Eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli drone targeted a vehicle on Al-Rashid Road, west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, injuring five people. In a separate attack, two Palestinians were wounded when another drone strike hit a bulldozer in the Al-Faraheen area, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Earlier in the day, an Israeli drone reportedly fired two missiles near a cart traveling on the same coastal road, causing panic among civilians but resulting in no casualties. Israeli forces also reportedly opened fire on Palestinian homes near the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza and in eastern Rafah in the south.

These attacks came as hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians began returning to their homes in northern Gaza for the first time since the ceasefire took effect on January 19. The truce, structured in three phases, includes a prisoner exchange and aims to establish a permanent cessation of hostilities along with the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the enclave.
Under the agreement, Palestinian factions have released 18 captives in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military offensive has killed over 47,400 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and left much of Gaza in ruins. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice over its actions in Gaza.
