The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has called on the State House of Assembly to initiate impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The party’s state caretaker committee (CTC), led by Tony Okocha, made this demand in Port Harcourt, the state capital, on Tuesday, May 7.
This action by the APC follows controversial comments made by Governor Fubara regarding President Tinubu’s involvement in resolving the state’s crisis, as reported by News Central on Monday.
The Governor stated that the state’s House of Assembly does not exist. According to him, the group of men who “claim” to be assembly members do not constitute a functioning assembly.
“Let me say it here, those group of men who claim that they are assembly members, they are not existing.” Fubara was quoted saying.
