Following his reinstatement as the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II arrived Kano Government House to officially accept his appointment letter and resume work as the sole first-class Emir of the state.

The Emir arrived at Kano late Thursday and received a lowkey homecoming reception based on security advice. All is set for the much-anticipated event that will usher the Emir to his first outing in public since his reinstatement.

A mini-durbar ceremony is scheduled for the Emir at the Africa House in Kano Government House. After which he will proceed to the Nassarawa Emir’s palace.

Reports indicate that the atmosphere in Kano State is jubilant after the reinstatement of Sanusi II. A lot of supporters can be seen outside the government house waiting to celebrate the governor’s decision.

The Emir will then lead the Jumu’at (Friday) prayers at the Kano Central mosque located at the palace in Kofar Kudu.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the appointment of Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi as the new Emir of Kano after signing the new emirate council law at Government House, Kano at 5:10 pm alongside his deputy, on Thursday.
