Juventus confirmed on Friday the acquisition of Canadian forward Jonathan David from French club Lille.
The Serie A giants announced that David has signed a five-year deal, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2030.
During his five years in Ligue 1 with Lille, David netted 109 goals in 232 appearances. He made a notable impact in Europe last season, scoring the decisive goal in Lille’s 1-0 victory over Real Madrid and adding a brace in their 3-1 triumph against Atletico Madrid.
Renowned for his reliability in front of goal, David finished fourth among Ligue 1’s top scorers last season, following a second-place finish the previous year and third in the 2022-23 campaign.

This signing marks the first major addition under Juve’s new general manager, Damien Comolli, who took charge last month.
David, a key figure in Lille’s 2021 Ligue 1 title-winning team, joins Juventus amid a period of transition. The club has secured only one trophy—the Italian Cup last year—since 2021, and finished a disappointing fourth in Serie A last season.
Following the dismissal of coach Thiago Motta in March after just eight months, Igor Tudor now leads the team.
Juve is also reportedly pursuing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who David replaced at Lille. Osimhen, loaned last season by Serie A champions Napoli to Galatasaray, carries a hefty €70 million ($82 million) valuation.
Additionally, local reports indicate Juventus are considering a move for England international Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.
