Kane Injured as Bayern Hold Leverkusen to Bundesliga Draw

Harry Kane sustained an injury as Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw at home by reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday.

Leverkusen opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Robert Andrich, but Bayern equalized just eight minutes later with a stunning long-range strike from Aleksandar Pavlovic.

Kane, who had a quiet game, limped off with a foot injury in the final moments following a collision with Leverkusen’s Amine Adli. Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, expressed concern over Kane’s condition, stating, “When Harry leaves the field, it’s serious because he’s a tough player.”

“It doesn’t look good,” Eberl added, “but we’re hoping he’s made of strong English wood and nothing is broken.”

Bayern came close to winning, with Serge Gnabry hitting the woodwork twice in the second half, but Leverkusen held firm to secure the draw.

“We definitely deserved more,” said Bayern captain Manuel Neuer. “We were the better team and created more chances. The goal we conceded was disappointing.”

Bayern dominated possession early in the match, with Dayot Upamecano receiving a yellow card for time-wasting and Leverkusen’s coach, Xabi Alonso, also booked for dissent.

Despite controlling much of the game, Bayern’s equalizer came after Pavlovic atoned for an earlier error that led to Andrich’s goal. Serge Gnabry’s close attempts in the second half applied further pressure, but neither side managed to break the deadlock.

While Bayern remains three points ahead of third-placed Leverkusen, Kane’s injury raises concerns ahead of their packed schedule.

In other Bundesliga matches, RB Leipzig thrashed Augsburg 4-0, with Benjamin Sesko scoring twice and providing an assist, while Stuttgart salvaged a 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg, thanks to Deniz Undav’s stoppage-time goal.

Elsewhere, St. Pauli claimed their first top-flight win since February 2011 with a 3-0 victory over Freiburg, Borussia Moenchengladbach ended Union Berlin’s unbeaten run with a 1-0 win, and Heidenheim defeated 10-man Mainz 2-0.
