Kenyans protest on social media over the rising cost of food and other basic amenities in the country.
According to sources, the hashtag #lowerfoodprices has been trending on Twitter for two days, and the subject has also dominated local media.
Some social media users shared shopping lists that detailed price increases in basic necessities such as bread and cooking oil over the last three years, with some items costing twice or three times as much.
