Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and a former governor of Kano State, promised on Wednesday to “significantly reduce the All Progressives Congress, APC, votes in Kano State during the 2027 elections.”
During a meeting with stakeholders from the Tsanyawa Local Government Area at his Kano home, Kwankwaso announced while welcoming former council members and senior special advisers from the previous administration.
His team’s efforts during the 2023 elections, which saw the Peoples Democratic Party struggle to garner only 15,000 votes in Kano, were praised by him.
“Despite being a new political platform and starting its campaign late, the New Nigeria People’s Party accomplished this amazing feat,” he said.
“It is now our responsibility to lessen the impact of the APC. We would put in endless effort to make sure that, by 2027, their number of votes in Kano is fewer than 15,000,” Kwankwaso continued.
To establish the NNPP as a powerful political force in Kano and beyond, the former governor highlighted the necessity of commitment and grassroots mobilisation.
He urged his followers to stay committed to producing outcomes that would guarantee the party’s victory in the next elections.
