Lebanon’s health ministry reported that Israeli air strikes killed two individuals in the southern part of the country on Friday, coinciding with Israel’s announcement of attacks targeting Hezbollah militants in the same area.
Despite a ceasefire agreement reached on November 27 aimed at halting over a year of conflict between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah, Israel has continued its near-daily military actions within Lebanon.
The Lebanese health ministry stated that an Israeli strike on a vehicle near Sidon resulted in one fatality, marking the fourth consecutive day of Israeli attacks in the south. Hours later, another Israeli strike on a vehicle near Aita al-Shaab caused a second death, according to the ministry.

The Israeli military confirmed conducting a “precise strike” near Sidon, claiming to have eliminated Hezbollah operative Muhammad Jaafar Mannah Asaad Abdallah, who they said was responsible for Hezbollah’s communication systems in Lebanon.
Later on Friday evening, the Israeli military announced another strike in the Aita al-Shaab area, resulting in the death of another alleged Hezbollah member.
An AFP journalist reported that the Israeli strike in Sidon hit a four-wheel-drive vehicle, causing a large plume of black smoke. Security forces secured the scene as onlookers gathered around the charred remains after firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The Israeli military has also claimed responsibility for other attacks this week, asserting that they targeted and killed Hezbollah members.
Despite the ongoing Israeli strikes, Hezbollah, which has been significantly weakened by the prolonged conflict, maintains that it is adhering to the November ceasefire agreement.
