Manchester City’s Champions League woes deepened as they surrendered a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Feyenoord on Tuesday, extending their winless streak to six games. Despite snapping a five-game losing streak, City failed to shake off defensive issues, conceding three times in the final 15 minutes. Manager Pep Guardiola admitted his squad is fragile and struggling with confidence ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.

Erling Haaland’s brace and a deflected Ilkay Gundogan strike had seemingly put City in control. But defensive lapses allowed Feyenoord’s Anis Hadj Moussa, Santiago Gimenez, and David Hancko to level the score, leaving Guardiola visibly frustrated.

Manchester City, currently 15th in the Champions League standings, faces a tough road to qualification with fixtures against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain looming.

Haaland’s goals, including his 46th in 44 Champions League appearances, showcased his clinical finishing. However, City’s vulnerabilities, including Josko Gvardiol’s poor backpass and miscommunication at the back, proved costly.

Feyenoord coach Brian Priske praised his team’s resilience, saying, “At 3-0 down and in some phases of the game we were dominated by Man City, who for me are the best team in the world.

“But we were able to take three key moments to perfection and get the three goals and come away with the draw.”At 3-0 down, we were dominated by the best team in the world, but we capitalised on key moments.”

City have now conceded at least two goals in six consecutive games, a first since 1963, as their usually imperious form continues to unravel.
