Aston Villa strengthened their attacking options on Monday with the signing of Marco Asensio on loan from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season.
The Spanish international, a three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, arrives just a day after Villa secured Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United, adding further firepower to Unai Emery’s squad.
Villa were keen to bolster their attack following the departure of Colombian striker Jhon Duran, who moved to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr last week in a deal reportedly worth £64 million ($79 million). Earlier in the transfer window, the club also brought in Dutch forward Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.

Currently eighth in the Premier League, Villa remains firmly in the hunt for Champions League qualification, sitting just four points off the top four. They have also progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League in their first season back in the competition since 1982-83.
Asensio, who won the Ligue 1 title in his debut season at PSG, has struggled for game time in recent months, failing to make a single start since November. His arrival offers Emery another experienced attacking option as Villa push for a top-four finish.
