Real Madrid confirmed on Thursday that Kylian Mbappe has been released from a US hospital following treatment for a stomach infection.
The French forward, currently in the United States for the Club World Cup, was diagnosed with “an acute case of gastroenteritis” and underwent tests and care.
“The player was discharged this afternoon and has returned to the Real Madrid training camp,” the club said in an official statement. They added that Mbappe will continue to receive specific medical treatment and gradually resume team activities.

Mbappe missed Real Madrid’s opening Club World Cup match against Al-Hilal on Wednesday, which ended in a 1-1 draw in Xabi Alonso’s debut as head coach.
Alonso noted earlier this week that the 26-year-old striker was “feeling a little better” after falling ill before the game in Miami.
In Mbappe’s absence, 21-year-old Madrid B-team player Gonzalo Garcia started and scored Real Madrid’s opening goal against the Saudi Arabian side.
Real Madrid’s next Group H fixture is scheduled for Sunday, June 22, against Mexican club Pachuca in Charlotte.
Mbappe concluded his first season with Real Madrid as the European Golden Shoe winner, netting 31 La Liga goals, although the team ended the campaign without any major trophies.
