Aleksandar Mitrovic, the former Newcastle United and Fulham striker, missed Al Hilal’s training session on Sunday due to an irregular heartbeat, the Saudi club announced.
The 30-year-old Serbian international had only recently returned to action after a long injury layoff, scoring in the Saudi Pro League on Friday. He was expected to feature in Al Hilal’s crucial second-leg match against Uzbekistan’s Pakhtakor in the Asian Champions League last 16 on Tuesday.

However, Al Hilal issued a statement confirming that Mitrovic would not participate in Sunday’s session due to fatigue and arrhythmias. The club added that Mitrovic would be closely monitored by medical specialists.
Al Hilal, four-time winners of Asia’s premier club competition, are currently trailing 1-0 following the first leg in Uzbekistan.
The striker joined the Riyadh-based club from Fulham in August 2023 for a reported transfer fee of around 50 million euros.
