Authorities claimed that Canadian model Dayle Haddon, a model who starred in films and TV series from the 1970s and 1980s, including “North Dallas Forty,” “Max Headroom,” and “The Hitchhiker,” died Friday in Solebury, Pennsylvania, from what seemed to be a carbon monoxide leak. Her age was 76.
Haddon “was discovered deceased in a second-floor bedroom” of the “detached office/in-law suite” of the property on Friday morning, according to the Solebury Township Police Department website, and Walter J. Blucas, 76, was found “lying down, passed out.” According to the statement, he is “in critical condition at the moment.”
Marc Blucas is an actor whose father is Walter J. Blucas. The younger Blucas’ representatives have been contacted by CNN for comment.
“A woman in her power, yet soft and attentive to all,” was how Ryan Haddon, Haddon’s daughter, recalled her mother on her verified Instagram. “Beautiful on the inside and exterior, extremely creative and inquisitive. Constantly considerate and kind.”
In addition to a photograph of one of Haddon’s books, 2003’s “The Five Principles of Ageless Living,” the post featured numerous of her magazine cover appearances as a model, including Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue.
The carbon monoxide leak was caused by a malfunctioning flue and exhaust pipe on a gas heating system, according to the police investigation.
The statement read, “The officers and members of the Solebury Township Police Department would like to express their deepest sympathies to the families of Haddon and Blucas.
“The significance of taking safety precautions against carbon monoxide in our homes is brought home to us by this tragic incident.”
