Nigeria’s former aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, has refuted claims that he has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the party for opposition figures aiming to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Sirika’s response came after Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), made comments during an interview on Arise TV, along with a news report citing Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
In a message posted on his X account, Sirika affirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stated he has no plans to leave the party.

“I am a founding member of the APC; I gave it its name. I have no plans to leave it. I will always be where President Buhari is. If you must hate him, hate me too. I have no apology.”
He criticised both Wike and Onanuga, saying that they should have confirmed the information before making their assertions public.
On Wednesday, several prominent Nigerian political leaders attended the launch of the ADC as the platform for the opposition coalition, which took place in Abuja.
