Namibia’s President-elect, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment, employment generation, and poverty alleviation once she assumes office.
Nandi-Ndaitwah will be officially sworn in as President of the Republic of Namibia on Friday, March 21, 2025.
Speaking at a church service at Onamutai Anglican Church in Ongwediva on Sunday, she emphasised that her administration will prioritise tackling poverty and unemployment to improve the lives of all Namibians.

As she prepares to lead the country, she called on every citizen to support her efforts, stressing the need for dedication, integrity, transparency, and unity to ensure efficient service delivery and equitable prosperity.
“We must all be committed and dedicated to hard work, transparency, honesty, professionalism and unity to ensure effective service delivery and bring about balanced prosperity for all,” she said.
She also encouraged Namibians to back local businesses, highlighting their vital role in economic growth.
“I will not take credit for all these achievements, as it must go to all Swapo members, supporters and sympathisers who made me the party’s presidential candidate and for having worked hard that the majority of the Namibian voters voted for Swapo and me,” she said.
