The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has announced a partnership with the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS) to advance research and development in the country.
Speaking at the commissioning of the NAS-TY Danjuma Science Museum and Library in Abuja, NCDMB Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Ogbe, represented by Barr. Esueme Dan Kikile, reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to fostering research initiatives.
He highlighted the Board’s role in the construction of the Oloibiri Oil Museum and Research Centre, in collaboration with Shell Petroleum, the Bayelsa State Government, and the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

“The museum will not only serve as a building but also as a centre for research. After over five decades of oil production, it is crucial to have a dedicated oil and gas research facility,” Ogbe stated.
The President of NAS, Prof. Ekanem I. Braide, emphasised the importance of integrating research into policy and practice for sustainable national development. He called for collaboration between researchers, government, industry, and communities.
Ogbe also highlighted NCDMB’s commitment to research, noting that the Board has allocated a $50 million fund to support research and development, stressing its critical role in national progress.
