The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Americas (NiDOA) is set to hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Conference from November 22 to 24 in Cleveland, Ohio. The event seeks to strengthen unity among Nigerians living abroad and address ongoing internal challenges within the organisation.

Dr. Victor Ubani, Coordinating Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Worldwide, expressed concerns over the limited progress made by NiDOA despite its existence for over 20 years. He attributed the slow advancement to internal divisions, a lack of cooperation, and weak member commitment, emphasising that overcoming these obstacles is essential to fulfilling NiDOA’s core mission.

He encouraged Nigerians abroad to participate in the conference, either in person or virtually, to drive meaningful growth and development for Nigeria. Ubani believes that collective efforts are key to achieving sustainable development. He highlighted the importance of collaboration with the Nigerian government.

With over 20 million Nigerians living abroad, Ubani called on all to join NiDOA’s efforts to create a united front for a better Nigeria.

The conference, themed “New Nigeria: Fresh Progress, Vision for United NiDO,” will feature several distinguished guests, including Mr. Wole Oke, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, who will serve as the special guest of honour. Other notable guests include Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission; Mr. Tochukwu Okere, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Matters; and Amb. Gabriel Aduda, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

NiDOA, a continental organisation, aims to promote patriotism, networking, and cooperation among Nigerians in the Americas, leveraging these connections to build a better Nigeria.
