Nigeria Drops to 92nd Place in Latest Passport Ranking

Nigerian-Passport1

Nigeria has been ranked 92nd on the Henley Passport Index, which assesses the strength of passports based on the number of countries that can be visited without a prior visa.

This low ranking highlights the limited travel freedom Nigerians face compared to many other nations.

The index, recognised globally, uses data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and covers 199 passports and 227 destinations.

Singapore holds the top spot with the world’s most powerful passport, while many European countries dominate the upper rankings.

Nigeria’s position is among the lower half, similar to other African countries like Egypt (87th) and South Africa (47th).

The lowest ranks are occupied by countries facing severe instability, such as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
