Nigeria’s government announced on Tuesday that Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, will be public holidays in observance of Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made this announcement, highlighted the significance of reflecting on the values of sacrifice and love demonstrated by Jesus Christ, who sacrificed himself for the salvation of humanity, while sending greetings to Christians on this festive occasion.
He urged Nigerians to use the holiday to pray for the country’s peace, unity, and stability.

He also assured citizens of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s steadfast dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to promote national growth and development and encouraged Nigerians to share love and goodwill with their neighbours through acts of kindness and generosity.
The Minister wished all Christians a joyful Easter celebration and sent warm holiday wishes to all Nigerians.
