Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, has praised Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel for their tenacity in 2024, stating that the Force has completed around 20,000 flight hours throughout the year.
In his message of goodwill to the NAF officers and airmen on the occasion of the Christmas celebration, Abubakar made this statement on Thursday.
“We have proven our unwavering dedication to safeguarding the country’s interests, especially in the battle against insurgency, banditry, and other illicit economic activities, with nearly 20,000 flying hours under our belt,” he said.
“However, we were able to achieve notable operational successes because of your bravery, tenacity, and fortitude.”
The Air Chief stated that the previous year had its share of difficulties in all areas of operations, but that the force’s achievements demonstrated its love and patriotism. He expressed his pride in all of the force’s accomplishments to date.
Abubakar said the NAF had witnessed significant increases in aircraft serviceability rates in addition to operational victories.
He claimed that despite continuing to develop expertise internally, the emphasis on staff training had also produced remarkable outcomes.
As we come to the end of another exciting year, I want to express my sincere gratitude to all of the members of the NAF family, especially my brave officers and airmen.
“I want to express my gratitude in particular for your sacrifice, perseverance, and unshakeable commitment to serving our wonderful country.
He remarked, “Your dedication and professionalism have been crucial in guaranteeing the safety and stability of our dear nation.”
He added that contemporary combat required coordinated efforts to achieve lasting peace and security, and he urged staff to maintain the spirit of synergy and interagency cooperation.
“Enter this new year with renewed vigour, unwavering resolve, and a deep belief in our mission; together there is no obstacle we cannot overcome,” the CAS encourages Air Force personnel.
He believes that as long as the NAF stays committed to its goal of serving and protecting, it will become stronger, more resilient, and more capable.
