A major Nigerian petroleum marketer, MRS, has increased the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) in Lagos to N925 per litre, up from N885 on Friday morning.
This adjustment follows the Dangote refinery’s decision to raise its ex-depot price for petrol from N825 to N880 on Friday.
According to a post on its X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, MRS announced varying pump prices across different Nigerian regions.
In the Southeast, petrol will now sell for N955 per litre. Customers in Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti states will pay N935 per litre. For the Northeast, the price is set at N955, while the Northwest and North Central regions will see prices of N945 per litre.

MRS advised customers to check updated prices nationwide, effective June 21, 2025.
Other Dangote partners, including Heyden and AP, are expected to follow suit with price hikes. This comes as importers had already raised their prices due to an increase in global crude prices.
Reacting to the development, Festus Osifo, president of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), accused oil marketers of exploiting Nigerians.
He insisted that the appropriate pump price for petrol should be between N700 and N750 per litre, criticising the discrepancy between falling global crude oil prices and Nigeria’s stagnant retail petrol prices.
