The Senate has commenced a two-day public hearing on proposed tax reform bills, bringing together key figures from the nation’s economic and financial sectors.
Attendees include Finance Minister Wale Edun, FIRS Chairman Zacch Adedeji, NNPCL Group CEO Mele Kyari, members of the Federal Executive Council, and Customs Comptroller General Adewale Adeniyi, among others.
Senator Sani Musa, Chair of the Senate Finance Committee, assured that the process would be transparent and in the national interest.
The hearing seeks to update tax laws to reflect economic realities, ensuring fairness, inclusivity, and efficiency in Nigeria’s tax system.

Musa urged stakeholders and the public to participate actively, emphasising the importance of collective input in shaping policies that drive economic growth and national development.
