President Bola Tinubu was cautioned by Hashimu Dungurawa, the Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), on Thursday to brace himself for a crushing defeat in 2027.
He claimed that because of the Tinubu-led government’s alleged anti-masses policies, Nigerians had lined up behind the party for the 2027 general election.
“I am hopeful that the NNPP will win all 36 states in the federation, including the presidential election,” he said.
“You should expect to lose the next general election given your unpopular anti-masses policies and position. Nigerians will change you if you don’t change them,” Dungurawa stated.
He told reporters in Kano that Tinubu had been making life difficult for Nigerians with his policies since his inauguration on May 29, 2023.
“From the podium on May 29, 2023, President Tinubu started reeling out anti-masses policies as if Nigerians had stepped on his toes. He kept slamming unfriendly policies on us, even up to today.
“With these challenges and much more purposefully created by the All Progressives Congress-led government, it is just a matter of time as we will ensure Tinubu is out in 2027 and Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, a true democrat, steps in,” he said.
“The NNPP has opened offices and established structures in states and local government areas across the country,” the chairman said, emphasising that the move was a sign that the party would win both state and federal seats in 2027.
According to him, the NNPP had a successful 2024 and was expected to have even greater success in 2025.
“You are all living examples of how fortunate we are to have a governor who believes in God and has reorganised Kano State to improve human development, empowerment, and infrastructure.”
According to him, “Kano can now compete favourably with any modern city worldwide, especially with the state-of-the-art facilities made available in the metropolitan and rural areas.”
Dungurawa said that the only obstacle the party had to contend with was the purported Nigerian government plot to force the nation into a one-party system.
To alleviate the suffering of the public, he cautioned the Nigerian government to step up efforts to implement human-friendly policies.
Rumours that Rabiu Kwankwaso, the party’s national leader, was considering rejoining the APC were rejected by him as untrue.
According to the NNPP chairman, the myth was intended to damage Kwankwaso’s stellar reputation and enormous popularity.
