Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip on Saturday killed at least 64 people and injured dozens more, according to medical sources, as attacks targeted refugee camps, shelters, and civilians gathering near aid distribution points.
In central Gaza, eight people—including five children—were killed and 18 others injured in an Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to a statement from Al-Awda Hospital.
Another three people died in a separate air raid on the Al-Sultan water desalination plant in Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighbourhood.
A café in the town of Al-Zawaida, also in central Gaza, was hit by Israeli warplanes, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, medics confirmed.
Elsewhere in Gaza City, an Israeli attack on a school being used as a shelter in the Zeitoun neighbourhood claimed the lives of seven people and left many others wounded. A nearby family home in the same area was also targeted, killing four more.
In Gaza City and the northern town of Jabalia al-Balad, eight people, including a woman, were killed in separate Israeli attacks, while in the Sheikh Ridwan neighbourhood, a strike on another school sheltering displaced civilians left three dead—two of them children—and several injured.
Further south, Israeli shelling near a mosque in the Shejaiya area killed two more people.

Two siblings were also killed in a drone strike that hit a residential building in the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
In the nearby Maghazi refugee camp, two more lives were lost when Israeli forces struck a home, according to medical reports.
In western Khan Younis, a Palestinian doctor and his four sons were killed in an Israeli drone strike on a tent housing displaced people in Al-Mawasi. Another man and his only son died in a similar attack nearby. Additionally, a woman was shot dead when Israeli forces opened fire on tents sheltering civilians.
In Rafah, in southern Gaza, 11 more people, including three children, were killed as they queued for humanitarian aid. Several others were injured during the attack near an aid distribution point.
The death toll from the Israeli bombardment, which began in October 2023, has now surpassed 57,300 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children, according to Gaza health authorities.
Despite widespread calls from the international community for a ceasefire, Israeli airstrikes and invasion have continued.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel is also facing genocide allegations at the International Court of Justice.
