France has again revolutionised the opening ceremony experience with a dynamic and unparalleled Paralympic Summer Games event.
Paris moved away from the usual stadium setting in line with its tradition of daring innovation. The groundbreaking event unfolded on the renowned Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées stage.
Artistic Director Thomas Jolly pledged a spectacle that would “transform the heart of Paris” with “unprecedented performances.”
Bringing spectators together, he stressed the ceremony’s objective to highlight Paralympic athletes and their principles, uniting viewers worldwide.
The vibrant parade down the Champs-Elysées, featuring delegations from 184 countries, signalled the start of the opening ceremony. The historic Parisian square, the Place de la Concorde, provided a suitable backdrop for this exceptional occurrence.
Organisers were confident that these innovative Games would create a lasting impact, owing to the remarkable accomplishments of the participating athletes.
Each Paralympic sport was slated to occur at renowned French landmarks, reflecting the nation’s abundant heritage.
