Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide General Overseer Enoch Adeboye has demanded the release of well-known TikToker Olumide Ogunsanwo, also known as SeaKing, who was detained by the police and charged with a crime after he criticised the pastor on social media.
Additionally, the revered cleric disassociated himself from the arrest, claiming that neither the incident nor its perpetrators were known to him.
SeaKing accused Adeboye of being “stupid” in a December 2024 TikTok post for calling on people to fast for 100 days in support of Nigeria.
In December, SeaKing was arrested after a Christian youth group, the Concerned Christian Youth Forum, petitioned the Lagos State Police Command over the post, which infuriated many on social media.

However, Adeboye stated in a widely shared video on Saturday that he did not know the people behind the TikToker’s detention and was not participating in it.
“I heard that someone severely criticised me for asking my people to fast for 100 days,” he remarked. I didn’t ask him. Only my children were asked to fast; I didn’t even ask anyone who isn’t a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. However, God promised that it would occur. I was informed that some individuals became so enraged that they went and took the man into custody. Haha! Let him go. He is fulfilling prophecy.”
James Adama, the Christian forum’s convener, acknowledged that the group was responsible for SeaKing’s detention in a Friday YouTube video, saying it was a reaction to the growing threat of cyberbullying against well-known religious figures.
“I was just disturbed to find a recent video in which a man identified as 32-year-old Ogunsanwo Olumide verbally attacked Pastor E.A. Adeboye. In a startling act of disdain and disobedience, Mr Ogunsanwo called Pastor Adeboye an idiot and a very foolish man, claiming that he had given his followers instructions to fast for 100 days
“In addition to being abhorrent, this egregious verbal abuse conduct goes against our cultural standards and beliefs. It jeopardises the cornerstone of our moral system and weakens the fundamental value of respect for seniors, which is ingrained in our culture.
“The public is being notified that Ogunsanwo has been taken into custody and will face charges in court for his unwarranted, offensive, and insulting attack on the esteemed Christian leader.
“The Concerned Christian Youth Forum arrested him,” he said.
