The Northern Traditional Rulers’ Council has convened its 7th Executive Committee Meeting in Maiduguri, Borno State, under the theme: “Enhanced Security as a Panacea for Stability and Development in the North.”
The gathering brought together traditional leaders from across the northern region, offering a platform to deliberate on the pressing security challenges affecting their communities and explore collaborative solutions aimed at fostering peace, unity, and economic progress.






The meeting shows the influential role traditional rulers continue to play in addressing insecurity and promoting grassroots engagement across the region. Discussions are expected to focus on ways to strengthen community-level vigilance, foster dialogue, and enhance cooperation within agencies in tackling the growing threats of banditry, insurgency, and other forms of unrest.
