The Bayelsa State Police Command has deployed tactical teams and drones to locate the kidnappers of Justice Ebiyerin Omukoro, who was abducted on Saturday evening.

Armed men in uniform abducted the judge around 7:00 p.m. near the popular Kilimanjaro eatery in the Ekeki area of Yenagoa, forcing him into a Toyota Hilux van.

Justice Omukoro, a former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Sagbama Branch, was reportedly at the eatery for dinner when the incident occurred.

A video circulating online shows the moment the assailants forced him into the van. As of Sunday morning, his whereabouts remained unknown.

Although the Bayelsa State Judiciary has yet to issue a statement, the police have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Musa Mohammed, confirmed the development, stating, “The command has deployed tactical teams and drones to trail and arrest the hoodlums.”
