President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honoured the memory of the Owa of Obokun of Ijesha Land, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II, who passed away after a remarkable 42-year reign.

In a heartfelt tribute, President Tinubu praised Oba Aromolaran for his steadfast support, optimism, and dedication to justice and unity in Nigeria. He noted that the late monarch’s commitment to these noble causes has been an inspiration to many.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu highlighted Oba Aromolaran’s deep respect for Yoruba culture and African traditions, which characterised his impressive tenure on the throne.

“His respect for these values and systems defined his remarkable 42-year reign on the throne of his ancestors,” President Tinubu remarked.

The President also acknowledged Oba Aromolaran’s significant contributions to education through his numerous books and publications, his advocacy for fairness, and his protection of the vulnerable from exploitation.

“On behalf of the Federal Government, President Tinubu extends sincere condolences to the government and people of Osun State, the good people of Ilesa, and the family of the late traditional ruler,” the statement read.
