Fabrizio Romano, a sports journalist, reports that Marcus Rashford, a forward for Manchester United, will be joining Aston Villa on loan with the possibility of a permanent move.
As part of the deal, Villa will pay more than 70% of Rashford’s wages, according to a post published on Sunday via X by Romano. The deal also includes a £40 million buyout option.
A medical examination is anticipated for the England international today before the transfer is finalised.
Romano wrote: “Here we go, Marcus Rashford, to Aston Villa. A loan agreement was reached whereby Villa would pay more than 70% of his salary. Together with a possible three-and-a-half-year contract, the contract also includes a purchase option provision for £40 million. A medical appointment was scheduled for today.”
Negotiations to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson on a direct loan until June are moving forward for West Ham United in the meantime. Discussions with the player’s representation are still going on, and final details have not yet been decided.
